Seeking admission to the United States for 90 days or less for business, pleasure or transit.
Have a valid passport legally issued by a country participating in the Visa Waiver Program. The passport must have a machine-readable zone on the biographical page.
Arrive via a Visa Waiver Program signatory carrier by air or sea.
Owning a return or onward travel ticket.
Travel may not terminate in contiguous territory or adjacent islands unless the traveler is a resident of one of these areas.
Are a citizen or national of one of the countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program.
How long is it valid for?
An approved travel authorization is valid for 2 years from the issuing date or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.
Can I travel more than once?
Yes. During the two years of the validity period, traveler can visit the United States several times with the same approved ESTA travel authorization.
Do children need ESTA?
Yes. No matter what age they are. Children traveling under the Visa Waiver Program will need an approved ESTA for admission to the United States.
I am in transit through the U.S.?
If you are visiting the United States only in transit to another destination country, you will need an approved ESTA travel authorization. Same form must be submitted for travelers in transit.
